Lara Gavillet

Project Manager, Royal Mail

Lara Gavillet

I’m based in Hertfordshire and work in London.  I’m an active person who enjoys long walks in the countryside and play for Stevenage hockey team.  I have a passion to keep learning and am currently undertaking an MSc with Warwick school of business.

I have worked in the transport and logistics sector for almost 20 years and in transformation roles for 13 of these.  Since April 2020 I have been managing the COVID-19 test kit project for Royal Mail, an integral part of the Government’s response to the pandemic.  This has involved working with a wide range of stakeholders both internally and externally, in particular, with colleagues from the UK Health and Security Agency.  This programme has been extremely high profile and has required change to be deployed at an unprecedented scale and pace across the UK; managing design and deployment strands in parallel.  This programme has involved a collection of projects to date and a considerable amount of collaboration to navigate through the ambiguity and complexity brought about by the continuously changing environment as the pandemic unfolds.

I feel passionately about supporting others and am an active mentor to colleagues both internally and externally to Royal Mail.  I’m an advocate for the association for project management (APM) and volunteered to become a mentor for the first female-focused mentoring scheme aiming to motivate and inspire others who are developing in their project management careers.
