Amanda White

Amanda’s Railway career spans 19 years. Starting out as a trainee electrification engineer, she moved into Railway Systems Engineering to shape key projects, including the HS2 Phase 2b route to Manchester.

In 2014 Amanda took up the role of Head of Rail at Transport for Greater Manchester, working with local governments across the North of England to improve rail services and strategies for future rail growth.

Now, as West Midlands Rail Programme Director, she is responsible for a £200m programme, delivering seven stations in the West Midlands, including the rebuild of Perry Barr Station ahead of the Commonwealth Games.

Amanda has been a volunteer throughout her career, sitting on the IMechE Board and now as a Governor for the National College of Advanced Technology and Infrastructure.
