Bibado Ltd, Founding Director

Rachel Wood

Rachel Wood founded Bibado in 2016, with the invention of the now multi-award-winning Bibado Coverall, following her experience of mealtime frustration, whilst weaning her twin daughters.  She solved the problem of mealtime mess, without babies losing the ability to explore and be curious about food, from an old umbrella and some determination at her kitchen table.  This was the first Bibado prototype and she put it to use on her daughters straight away.

Rachel knew her idea would help parents all over the world and took the leap into entrepreneurship to pursue this endeavour, leaving her former career, of ten years, as a Dentist behind.  The decision was also coupled with the fact that Rachel craved a more flexible work-life balance, which fitted around her responsibility to her young daughters.

Over the last 5 years, the company has gone from a kitchen table start-up to a global brand, with a remote working flexible team, mainly of like-minded parents.  The company now distributes products globally, with annual sales approaching £6 million.  Bibado’s mission is tocreate happy and nurturing mealtimes for the whole family, through making products which foster curiosity, build confidence, inspire fun and encourage the spirit of adventure through learning together.
